Week from HELL - Car Problems
May 23 - WHYPANAMA
When it rains it pours!!!

Last Friday all I wanted to do was go shopping in Penonomee - 20% discount off medications at the grocery store!

The battery and brake light came on indicating that the alternator was going! So I took the car to Anton to our mechanic, Eddie. He said it could cost $300+ if we went to Mitsubishi in the city for a new alternator and he could do it for a lot less. We told him to take care of it and we would pick up the Nativa on Saturday.

Meanwhile, I catch the bus to go to XS and then home. Our PT has needed a battery for the last 2 months and one of the tires the steel belt is starting to come though. Matt has been putting off these changes because he has became "PANAMANIAN".

I call Matt from XS about the PT and he gives me the info to get a battery. THANK GOD Sheila lets me borrow her car to go get a battery for the PT so we will have 1 car running. So Friday night I follow Matt up to XS to return Sheila's car and he has problems with the bad tire. We end up and leave the car at XS and borrow Dennis' pickup to come home.

Saturday morning we are back at XS (plus have a great breakfast!!) early to return Dennis' pickup and take the PT to exchange for the Nativa. We leave the PT with Eddie to put on our spare tire.

Well the spare tire is bad and he can't use it, plus the brakes are bad and need to be replaced. We tell Eddie I will be back early next week with the original tires and wheels and brakes.

Now it is Wednesday morning and I am heading to Anton with the parts--Eddie has been in the city on Tuesday getting additional parts for the Nativa.

On our way to get the PT that is now done, I run over a nail with the Nativa and am getting a flat tire!!

Needless to say I picked up the PT today, Friday, May 16, and have left the Nativa to get the rest of the work done so we will once again have 2 vehicles.

Picked up the Nativa today, May 23, all fixed and running great (new timing belt, water pump, plugs, valve cover gaskets, fuel filter, etc.). All done for a VERY reasonable price. I got the invoices showing all the parts plus the labor.
