PT CRUISER - New Computer

Had to have the PT Cruiser towed into the city for installation of the TCM (trans computer).

What most people don't realize is that they have towing on their car insurance. Our car insurance runs $165/year for liability. The towing charge to the city was $180--which was covered by our insurance policy. We didn't have to pay upfront and no deductible--they handled everything!

Also the dealership gave us a 15% pensionado discount on the labor.

A/C REPAIR

We had major problems with our 1999 Mitsubishi Native (Monterro).

We found a great guy in the city and had the evaporator, expansion valve, and dryer replaced.

The car was in the garage for 2 days in the city for all of repairs, including disconnecting the heater. Our total bill for parts and labor was $250!!

Keg of Beer Anyone??

Keg of Beer Anyone?? ImageWe tapped a new keg on Friday, March 6, and after drinking some of the keg it was decided it was "skunky" when we were all sober (LOL). So on Sunday, March 8, we tapped another keg.

We returned the partial keg for a replacement on Monday to have another spare available. By Saturday, March 14, we had finished the GOOD keg--15.5 gallons of PANAMA beer.

Jon is holding the empty keg we polished off on Saturday, March 14.

MARY is HOME - UPDATE
Hi!

I went under major surgery for 3 tumors in my pelvic area on May 5. It turns out that they also took my appendix, part of my colon and bladder and 25 cm of intestines; plus the 3 tumors 25 cm, 12 cm, and 10 cm (and also I dropped 35 pounds with the 3 tumors weighing over 25 lbs.). I now have a scar from my groin upto my breastbone with 60+ staples--no more bikini's for me (LOL)!!

I went to the hospital today, May 25, for my final check-up for the next 3 months. The tumors were all cancerous and the other areas (bladder, colon, intestines) were NOT. The tumors were a very slow growing type and since they got 100% of the tumors there is no need for chemo.

I was admitted to Gorgus Hospital (Nacional Onocological Institute) on May 3 in preparation for my surgery. I was discharged on May 13 and also spent several days in ICU. I paid my bill for EVERYTHING before I left and I also had the option of making a payment plan for the doctors, surgery, hospital stay and medicines--of course I could afford $410. for the whole kit and kabootle.

We want to thank everyone for their support and especially Jackie Johnson, Rodger Carroll and Sylvian Duford for the blood donations!!!

Matt will be available via cell at 6612-9699 or 6470-8566 or toll-free from the U.S. at 1-866-949-7262.

Jan Margaret Kagemans Is Gone - The Crazy Renter Next Door
UPDATE - March 30, 2009

She has now been seen in the San Carlos/Punta Barco area sleeping in her car with her 4 dogs. She also has a different vehicle (a blue compact car).

As many of you know we have had a problem with a renter next door. She moved TODAY, October 16, to parts unknown!!! She and the 4 dogs are gone, but probably in the Coronado/San Carlos area. We feel sorry for where ever she has moved, her dogs attacked us, GIRL, our workers, and other people in the area. The attacks happened in our yard or by our pool. She also left the house destroyed inside, let alone the yard and beautiful plants. So those of you in PANAMA be very wary of an older American/Swiss woman that drives an Isuzu Rodeo with Nicaragua plates GR 2684.

Joke of the Month
HOW'S NORMA?

If you or anyone you know well has been in the hospital recently, you can relate! The operator said, 'I'll be glad to help, dear. What's the name and room number?'

The grandmother in her weak, tremulous voice said, 'Norma Findlay, Room 302.'

The operator replied, 'Let me place you on hold while I check with her nurse.'

After a few minutes, the operator returned to the phone and said, 'Oh, I have good news. Her nurse just told me that Norma is doing very well. Her blood pressure is fine; her blood work just came back as normal, and her physician, Dr. Cohen, has scheduled her to be discharged on Tuesday.'

The grandmother said, 'Thank you. That's wonderful! I was so worried! God bless you for the good news.'

The operator replied, 'You're more than welcome. Is Norma your daughter?'

The grandmother said, 'No, I'm Norma Findlay in 302. No one tells me shit.'
